Our journey began with a simple mission: to help people harness the natural benefits of CBD to address their pain and inflammation so they can get back to a normal life, something Jay, the founder, wished he had access to when he had a debilitating back injury from a snowboard and surfing accident. He was told by the 'so called' best NYC doctors that he will never be able to workout, surf or do any of the activities he loved ever again. As a life-long surfer and fitness enthusiast, this was not an option for Jay. Living 'physical' was part of who Jay was. There had to be a way!

The story of FZKL is one of adversity, perseverance, recovery, and ambition. What began over 20 years ago with Jay consulting ordinary people and athletes on improving their health and performance through the proper training, nutrition and mindset eventually evolved to the writing of three books. Many years and adversity later, Jay met Donica who shared a similar passion for health and fitness. As a Kettlebell Sport athlete and 13x world record holder she brought a new perspective and a much needed zeal to Jay's vision and 'fizikel' took on a new direction and together FZKL was reborn in 2020.

FZKL was born out of a desire to provide natural, effective solutions for health, wellness, recovery, and performance. When Jay, over 20 years ago, worked in the pharmaceutical and medical industry he was disheartened by what he saw and experienced behind the scenes and knew that the system was broken and that the answers he's been searching for to heal himself were elsewhere.

It was at this moment he decided to walk away from the industry of traditional medicine and pharmaceuticals for answers, to ultimately take his health into his own hands, and to do everything he could to empower himself and people who wanted to be truly healthy and whom traditional medicine had failed, just like it was failing him.

Jay persevered, recovered, and he discovered what truly makes someone healthy and perform well. He cracked the code and defied the doctors and became active again, without pharmaceuticals and without modern medicine. He was prepared to share his discoveries with the world which took shape in three forms; products, knowledge, and a non-profit designed to inspire kids to become their best in fitness, sport and life.

He put thousands of hours into writing three books over two years on nutrition, training, and mindset. Then, one day, a freak incident instantly destroyed his hard drive, his backups, and his years of hard work. Even though his knowledge lived within, all of a sudden everything he had put to paper was all gone. Adversity had struck again!

Devastated, he took some time to reflect by sailing to Panama and coaching athletes there for 6 months. Ultimately while on this journey he decided his mission had not changed and he still had to share his knowledge with the world.

Once again, hundreds of hours of research and lots of trial and error went into researching product elements, compounds, and information that helped him recover and defy the doctors who said it would be impossible.

The next step was to share it all with you which culminated in the products you see here today. This shortly evolved to more practices and products to helping the athletically-minded achieve their best in fitness, sport and life.
