Background

The Elderberry Zinc Lozenge with Vitamin C & Immune Blend combines herbal ingredients and essential minerals that help support antioxidant protection and a healthy immune system.

Elderberry contains natural compounds that help support immune health. These compounds have been studied for their potential role in helping the body’s defense against viruses.

Zinc is an important mineral that supports overall immune system function. Proper zinc levels help maintain healthy development of immune cells, especially T-lymphocytes. Zinc deficiency may reduce thymus gland size, which plays an important role in immune cell maturation.

Elderberry Immune Support

Elderberry contains several natural compounds that help support healthy immune function. These active compounds have been researched for their potential role in helping the body defend against viruses and maintain overall immune health.

Zinc Immune & Antioxidant Support

Zinc supports normal and healthy immune system function while also providing antioxidant protection, which is essential for maintaining immune health. Studies suggest that zinc may help support immune defenses and may reduce the severity and duration of seasonal illnesses. Preventive use of zinc lozenges may also help reduce the number of colds per year and lower antibiotic usage.

Echinacea Immune Activation

Echinacea may help activate the immune system by stimulating certain immune cells that are important for maintaining overall health and supporting the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

Herbal Soothing Support

Aloe is widely known for its soothing properties. Licorice root has traditionally been used as a natural remedy for sore throat relief. Slippery elm is a mucilaginous herb that helps provide soothing support to the mucus lining of the throat and esophagus, which may become irritated during colds or infections.

Recommended Use:

For Daily Immune Support: Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in mouth 1-2 times daily.

For Acute Immune Support (at first sign of cold/flu): Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in mouth every 2-3 hours while awake (up to 6-8 lozenges daily) for the first 24-48 hours, then reduce to 1 lozenge 3-4 times daily until symptoms resolve. Do not exceed 8 lozenges per day.

Usage Guidelines:

  • Dissolve Slowly: Allow lozenge to dissolve completely in your mouth rather than chewing or swallowing whole—this allows zinc to coat throat tissues for local immune support
  • Timing is Critical: For best results with acute infections, begin taking at the very first sign of symptoms (scratchy throat, sniffles, fatigue)
  • Empty Stomach OK: Lozenges can be taken with or without food, though taking on an empty stomach may enhance absorption
  • Avoid Immediately After: Wait 30 minutes after taking lozenge before eating, drinking, or brushing teeth to allow zinc to work on throat tissues

Pro Tips: Research shows zinc lozenges are most effective when started within 24 hours of symptom onset and used every 2-3 hours during waking hours. The lozenge format is superior to capsules for throat-related symptoms because zinc can work locally where you need it most. Studies show prophylactic (preventive) use of zinc lozenges may reduce the number of colds per year and their duration. Keep these on hand so you can start immediately when symptoms appear. Do not exceed 40mg of total zinc daily from all sources (food and supplements combined) for extended periods. If you experience nausea or metallic taste, reduce frequency or take with small amounts of food.

Reviews for Elderberry Zinc Lozenge

The lozenge format allows the active ingredients to dissolve slowly in your mouth, providing direct contact with throat tissues while also delivering nutrients systemically. This dual-action approach offers both localized soothing and full-body immune support.

Yes! While effective at the first sign of immune challenges, this lozenge can also be taken daily during seasonal changes or high-stress periods for proactive immune support and antioxidant protection.

This product is formulated for adults. Please consult your pediatrician before giving any supplement to children, as they may require different dosages or formulations.

Generally yes, but be mindful of total zinc and vitamin C intake from all sources. The recommended upper limit for zinc is 40mg daily for adults. Consult your healthcare provider if you're taking multiple immune supplements to avoid exceeding safe levels.
